Is the Frontline RGSS58ES CSA certified?

No. Frontline rates it to OSHA 1926 Subpart M, OSHA 1910 and ANSI standards. For CSA-marked rope grabs, see our Safety Direct range.

What rope does the RGSS58ES fit?

A 5/8 in diameter vertical lifeline, per Frontline. Use the lifeline Frontline specifies for it.

RGSS58ES or RGSS58: which one?

The RGSS58ES includes the integrated 3 ft shock-absorbing lanyard; the RGSS58 (also on FPC) is the rope grab alone for use with your own lanyard.

Can I attach it in the middle of the rope?

Yes. It is the openable type: unscrew one screw, feed the lifeline in, and screw it back together.

How often should the RGSS58ES be inspected?

Before every use, and formally by a competent person at least once a year. Retire it after any fall or if the shock pack has deployed or the grab cam is worn.

Pair the Frontline RGSS58ES with a lifeline, anchor and harness

The RGSS58ES is the connecting device on a vertical lifeline. Add a 5/8 in vertical lifeline, a rated roof anchor and a full-body harness for a complete personal fall arrest system.
