The lifeline is aramid fibre webbing with UHMWPE, lightweight with extreme high impact strength, running out of a rugged thermoplastic housing with a swivelling top and side lifeline exit. Is the Frontline RPA061R / RPA12R CSA certified?
No. Frontline rates it to ANSI Z359.14-2021, OSHA 1926 Subpart M and OSHA 1910 and tests it in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited lab. For a CSA-marked SRL, see our Safety Direct range.
RPA061R or RPW061R: what is the difference?
The webbing: the RPA061R lifeline is aramid fibre with UHMWPE; the RPW061R (also on FPC) is Frontline's standard web SRL. Both are 6 ft single-leg units with a steel rebar hook.
Do I need the 6 ft or the 12 ft?
Choose by how far you move from the anchor: 6 ft for work close to an overhead or shoulder-height anchor, 12 ft for more reach. Both have the same hook, ratings and housing.
Is there a twin-leg version for 100% tie-off?
Yes: the Frontline RPA062R, also on FPC, is the twin-leg 6 ft aramid SRL with steel rebar hooks.
How often should the RPAR be inspected?
Before every use, and formally by a competent person at least once a year. Remove it from service after any fall and follow Frontline's service schedule.
